Hi! For me, the benefits of Bikram/Hot yoga are: 

  • Heat helps me stretch further.
  • Gets my heart rate up. 
  • Motivating environment. Everyone is really focused.
  • Instructor talks you through the entire workout.
  • Clears my pores.
  • Focus on strengthening & stretching back.
  • Incorporates great balance exercises. 
Cons: 
  • Makes you dependent on doing yoga in a studio. 
  • Showering twice a day…
  • Boasts unrealistic benefits (digestive health, endocrine health, activating your thyroid..yaddy-yaddy-ya) 
  • Long, 90 minutes 
I like to do Bikram yoga once a week and regular vinyasa yoga more on a daily basis. One tip I have is to look out for Groupon or LivingSocial deals for new yoga students! If you’ve been to a studio even once you’re not qualified.
